What The F*ck Have I Been Doing All This Time?
Yeah, I said it.
I don’t know where to really start with this post except to just dive in.
I have been playing a part I haven’t been totally comfortable playing.
I have been playing the part of “high ticket coach” when I am really a “blue collar coach”.
I have had some really incredible mentors and coaches along the way.
I have one now.
But not all things are equal and the status quo at the moment is this obsession with selling high ticket packages and high ticket everything.
But what if that doesn’t fit? Because for me, it doesn’t. It never has.
When we launched The Content Company 7 years ago, we set out to have a high quality writing company that anyone could afford.
Because for us, it was the right thing to do. We did it previously with Balance Advertising Solutions too.
It is part of my DNA (“don’t tell me what I know Travis”- if you get this reference, we are friends for life), to make sure that people have access to the information that will change their lives. Will everyone take action? No, but a whole lot more will if it’s doable for them financially.
Now, there are many many many coaches that will say the line, “Well, if you want it bad enough you will find a way”. And sure, maybe that is the case for some, it was for me, but it’s not the case for most.
Because many people are overwhelmed by all the information out there and simply don’t know where to start the journey into creating a company or business or improving themselves. They see package after package and pitch after bloody pitch.
I am f*cking sick of it, truly sick of it.
So I am doing things differently from now on.
I am NOT a high ticket coach, I am a blue collar coach.
It does NOT mean my company can’t make 7 figures.
It does NOT mean I don’t see my value, quite the opposite, I see it so much that I want to share it with MORE people, not less.
It does NOT mean my engagements will be FREE, it means they will be affordable for more people, it’s that simple.
I am not going to perpetuate the narrative that affordable means lower quality, in this case it’s simply not true.
People are craving community, we need it now more than ever. It's important that if you have something on your heart, you let it out. You let it out and start creating that business you've talked about forever. And if you aren't clear what that is exactly, then we have even more work to do together, but it's not getting done just talking about it is it?
